Get well soon without antibiotics – the European Antibiotic Awareness day will be held on 18th November.
Please link into NHS Choices Antibiotic Awareness Campaign to understand why your doctor will not always prescribe antibiotics. It is about getting the right treatment for common illnesses such as colds and coughs without encouraging antibiotic resistance. Your doctor will only prescribe antibiotics when you need them, for example for a kidney infection or pneumonia. Antibiotics may be life-saving for infections such as meningitis. By not using antibiotics unnecessarily, they are more likely to work when you need them.
