IMPORTANT NOTICE – PATIENT PARKING AT THE PHOENIX PRACTICE
Parking enforcement is operating at The Phoenix Practice, following its introduction by NHS Property Services who own the site, including the car park. This was introduced after recent closure of part of the car park to allow building work to begin. As a result, many of our most vulnerable patients were unable to find a space, particularly when parking was being used for reasons unrelated to attending the Practice. We understand this change has caused some confusion and concern, so we would like to clarify how the system works.
What you need to do when you arrive: If you are visiting the Practice for any reason (appointments, collecting or dropping off items, or enquiries), you must enter your vehicle registration number into the kiosk in reception when you arrive.
How parking is managed
• The parking enforcement company is appointed and managed by NHS Property Services, not by the Practice.
• The Practice does not receive any income from parking charges.
• Parking controls are in place to ensure fair access for patients, particularly while the new Weybridge facility is under construction.
• Practice staff and managers cannot cancel or amend parking charges.
If you receive a parking charge and you believe you were parked legitimately, appeals should be submitted directly to the parking enforcement company. All appeals are reviewed individually (including video footage) and considered on their merits,
Respect for our staff: Our reception and clinical teams do not have the authority to cancel or change parking charges, and asking them to intervene will not affect the outcome of any appeal.
Unfortunately, some staff have been subjected to aggressive or abusive behaviour when explaining this. Our staff deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect at all times. Any form of verbal abuse, intimidation, or threatening behaviour towards our team is not acceptable.
We ask everyone to remember that our staff are here to care for patients and support the safe running of the Practice.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
